Formed as a not-for-profit, the “Recovery Advocacy Project,” organized under IRS Code 501(c)(4) will provide strategic support to advance recovery through investing in recovery aware and recovery sensitive leadership. RAP endeavors to augment current good work in the recovery focused education, advocacy, and civic space by focusing on essential capital for sustained social change.

The Recovery Advocacy Project (RAP) is committed to giving people in recovery, family members, and supporters of recovery the grassroots organizing tools to think and act locally. RAP is working to build a visible and effective constituency in demand of community and public policy based solutions in response to America’s long-standing addiction crisis.

Mobilize Recovery is an ongoing initiative to empower, skill share, and train recovery community organizers. The purpose of Mobilize Recovery is to create spaces for recovery advocates to step into their own power as organizers and take learned skills and shared expertise back to their communities.

Mobilize Recovery gives YOU the tools to make sustainable, real change in your community; connect with emerging leaders from across the country; and develop a plan of action that we can work on together to inspire recovery and end the preventable overdose crisis in America.

Mobilize Recovery is an initiative of The Voices Project & Recovery Advocacy Project in partnership with multiple national recovery organizations, Corporations & private philanthropists.

The Recovery Advocacy Project is keeping its commitment to give people in recovery, family members, and supporters of recovery the grassroots organizing tools to think and act locally. We will continue to publish advocacy guides and build tools to advance legislation, community actions, campaigns, and civic engagement.

The Recovery Advocacy Project provides grassroots support to teams of people with specific campaigns, as well as individual advocates through its Recovery Organizing Coaching (ROC) Program. Requests for Grassroots Support can be found in the “Get Involved” tab of this website.

Many tools for grassroots advocates can be found here at Recoveryvoices.com under the Advocacy Resources Tab including Advocacy Guides, Model Legislation Page, Voter Resource Hub, and the Social Media Toolkit.

The Recovery Advocacy Project periodically runs peer learning sessions and training with and for community organizers. These sessions are archived in the Recovery Advocacy Classroom.

Anyone can access the Recovery Advocacy Classroom and attend the ongoing learning sessions and training for community organizers. You can find these in the “Advocacy Resources” tab of the website.
